This storehouse is said to be the oldest building at Tōji Temple. Built in the Heian period (794–1192), this wooden structure—known as an [azekura]—stored temple archives, documents, and treasures. The National Treasure [One-Hundred Boxes of Tōji Temple Documents] was held here, preserving a vast history within these ancient wooden walls.
