This object was originally the main body of a box, though the lid is now lost. It was crafted by weaving and wrapping arrowroot bark, dyed red with sappanwood, and finished with a coating of lacquer. The opening is fitted with a bamboo rim. This box was traditionally used to store the Priest's Robe (Kesa, N-35).
