Ise Jingū Shrine, officially Jingū, is a complex consisting of 125 shrines. The most significant are the Inner Shrine ([Naikū]), captured here, and the Outer Shrine ([Gekū]). These respectively enshrine Amaterasu Ōmikami, the sun goddess, and Toyouke-no-Ōmikami, the deity of food and grain. They stand as the most sacred sites in the Shinto tradition.
